I’m Matt Molloy, a Project Design Director with 20 years of industry experience. My speciality is leading project-wide design quality and deliverables. I lead cross-discipline teams, work directly with IP holders, and ensure gameplay quality holds up under real production pressure.

I’ve contributed to and led design across titles including Returnal, Days Gone, Age of Empires IV, Amazon: New World, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and Elite: Dangerous, and I’m currently directing design on three AAA FPS projects under NDA.

Alongside leading design teams, I remain actively involved in shaping the work, developing prototypes, and establishing design benchmarks that define quality and direction for not only the team, but the wider design department.

I design and direct games that hold together under pressure. From mechanics and systems, to player feedback and onboarding, I apply a strict holistic design approach. My role is to ensure that happens across an entire project. I align disciplines, define quality, and drive clarity in environments where ambiguity and pressure are constant. As a design leader I mandate systems that work in unison, validated through real play and data.
